As a student of the Internet medium, I have been watching the evolution of blogging with interest.

But blogging does not resonate well with me. I ask myself, what is this, and what is its purpose? Much of what I see in peoples' blogs would be better presented as a collection of essays.

Speaking for myself, I prefer to communicate my thoughts in the form of either serious writing, or quick short essays.

But I'll continue to watch how blogging develops, as a technology and a medium, and in the meantime keep an open mind.
