23. In reciprocity-based power control, the base station transmits a continuous signal, which includes information about the power level it is using. The mobile measures the strength of the received signal and takes the ratio of that measurement to the indicated transmit power level at the base station. This ratio indicates the ”path loss” of a signal between the mobile and the base station and allows the mobile to determine the transmit power level it should use.
