11. It is this synchrony between the state of the reverse channel and the broadcast control flag which reduces the amount of ”busy hang” time. Busy hang is the state which exists when the reverse channel is actually idle but a mobile awaiting transmission believes it to be busy because the flags indicate it to be busy. The size of the busy hang interval limits the efficiency of the shared medium of the reverse channel.
